You’re invited to join NGIA along with the Nebraska Cooperative Development Center (NCDC) in Kearney on Thursday, August 22nd for our second-annual “Grocery Industry Summit.” This free summit is designed to be an opportunity for grocers, wholesalers, vendors, policymakers, and others to learn about, discuss, and address the many challenges facing the industry today.

10:15AM: Cooperative Overview: Supply chain management, meeting economies of scale, competing with Dollar Store entry 


11:15AM: Panel: Retail Technology

12:30PM: Overview of state and federal legislative and regulatory challenges, opportunities: Senator Teresa Ibach, Legislative District 44    

          Last spring, Senator Ibach introduced the “Grocer Reinvestment Option Act” to provide loans and grants to small, Nebraska owned grocery and convenience stores located in lower and moderate-income areas. She also introduced an interim study to examine the availability of healthy and affordable food in Nebraska communities.
